Ahead of the ISWA 2025 World Congress & Exhibition – Re-imagine Waste: “Towards a Wasteless Future or a Wasteful Planet?”

The ISWA Young Professionals Group (YPG) Online Conference is a leading international annual event organized by young professionals for young professionals. It serves as a dynamic platform to explore innovative solutions in waste and resource management, with a strong emphasis on climate action and circular economy principles, ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP30 in Belém, Brazil.

The conference highlights the vital role of emerging experts in driving sustainable change globally.

This event is proudly organized each year by the Research and Innovation (R&I) Working Group, with more than 30 Conference Committee members representing over 20 countries.

The conference brings together a diverse audience, including: young professionals, researchers, academics, industry leaders, policymakers, and finance experts, in order to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration across disciplines.

A special focus is dedicated to individuals who may not traditionally have the opportunity to share their ideas on an international stage. This includes citizens, informal sector workers, and interdisciplinary experts such as: sociologists, architects, designers, and philosophers — voices that are crucial to creating a truly circular world.

Our mission is to give a voice to the voiceless and promote inclusive dialogue for a sustainable future.

Registration is free, and prizes are awarded to the best presentations!

• This year a Special Session will be dedicated to Spanish speakers, and abstracts in Spanish are also welcome!

Call for Abstracts! DEADLINE EXTENDED

We are calling for abstract submissions. Submit yours before the new deadline on Monday, 30th of June 2025 at 12:00 PM (CEST).

The YPG has organised prizes for exceptional work, which include:
1. A year of ISWA membership
2. A scholarship to the ISWA-SWIS Winter School 2026 in Arlington, Texas, USA
